Formed in 1980, The Active Spring Co. Ltd began in a small cart shed with little in the way of machinery or equipment. Since that time we have expanded our production to include Clips, Leaf Springs, Pressings, Washers, Torsion, Double Torsion, Compression, Tension, Conical and Wire Forms and have gained an enviable reputation for quality, reliability, friendly service and value for money.
In fact a large number of other Spring Manufacturers trust and rely upon us to supply items that are not within their own capabilities. Our customer focused attitude and continual investment in the most sophisticated machinery available to our industry have taken us from that cart shed to our current premises, a purpose built facility situated on our own four acre site. Our most recent acquisitions include a Wafios FMU2.7, a Wafios FMU4.7, and a Bennett Maxicoil MC-24 (the largest one in the world) which means that we now have one of the most extensive wire ranges in Europe from 0.152mm up to 30mm.

We manufacture for a very diverse range of industries from surgical and operating equipment, aircraft manufacturers, racing teams, vending machine manufacturers, lawn care equipment, valve manufacturers, (the petrochemical industry is a speciality to us) lighting equipment to door hinge manufacturers.
Our facilities are perfectly set up for any type of industry and we can cope with any quantity from 1 off to millions. We can manufacture from samples, drawings or specifications, whichever is available and most convenient to our customers.

We are able to produce a vast array of coil springs for thousands of applications in hundreds of different materials and finishes.
Flat Springs
Our range of flat springs includes clips, pressings, leaf springs and washers. We can produce small batches to large production runs with little or no tooling costs.
Wire Forms
We are able to produce many different complex wire forms in 2D & 3D. Our CNC machines are designed to hold the very tightest of tolerances whilst still maintaining fast set up times and high production speeds.

The Active Spring Company Ltd are Specialists in the manufacture of All types of Valve Springs, such as BUTTERFLY, CHECK and POPPET VALVES, with particular expertise in the use of alloy wire Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and Nimonic 90 for all major industries including Gas, Oil, Petrochemical and Power Generation.

In 1995 we achieved BS EN ISO9002 accreditation which has since been upgraded to BS EN ISO 9001 : 2000. All our procedures and processes are carried out to this high standard with complete traceability on every part. We employ a full time dedicated Quality Manager and all goods are inspected at 'first off' stage, during process, and final inspection before despatch.
With well over 100 years combined experience in spring production our staff are able to assist you with virtually any spring design query and indeed we specialise in providing a 'design and assist' policy on unusual or bespoke products using the latest in spring design software.
